2017 Animal Health Innovation Asia to be Held in Beijing (July 1, 2017)​​​​
Z-Link is proud to be Event Partner of ANIMAL HEALTH INNOVATION ASIA, a forum to be held in Beijing on October 18 & 19. The summit's objectives are to gather the industry leader to discuss the topics of partnership and cooperation opportunities in China market. The forums’ session is including one-on-one private meetings, educational lecture, topical meetings, and advancing topical lecture provided by the wider international leader and CEO.  Within this two-days’ time being, it is a unique opportunity that providing you to meet the partnerships on M&A and investment, and usually this process will take several months to achieve.
On Day 1, Dr. Tan will host a SPECIAL SESSION WITH CHINESE LEADERSHIP with interesting subjects such as:

Z-Link Biotech is Flying High in Nepal​​  (May 31, 2016)​​

Dr. Tan participated in the 2016 Tenzing-Hillary Everest Marathon -  the highest marathon and the most adventurous trail run in the world. The journey began on May 20 with a spectacular helicopter scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla then Namche Bazaar. Then the group trekked through Sherpa villages with beautiful view of the world's highest snowcapped peaks. The highest spot of this trip was Kalapatthar at 5545m/18200ft where a breathtaking panoramic view of Himalayan peaks could be seen (photo above).
On May 29, the marathon started from the Everest Base Camp (5364m/17,598ft) and finishes at Namche Bazaar (3446m/11306ft). The measured distance of the course was 42.195 km (26.2 miles) over rough mountain trails.
This amazing event was conducted to commemorate the first successful ascent of Everest by Late Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Late Sir Edmund Hillary on 29th May, 1953.

Applications Open for the Brucellosis Vaccine prize & Z-Link as Coordinator for Chinese applicants ​(Nov. 20, 2016)
The Brucellosis Vaccine Prize, a US $30 million prize competition, invites vaccine developers ("Solvers") to submit their proposals for - and ultimately develop - a suitable vaccine that is efficacious, safe and viable for use against Brucella melitensis in small ruminants across the developing world.  Applications for Phase 1 open until November 18, 2017. Animal Health Innovation: Latin America(Aug. 6-7, 2019)
The conference was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Aug. 6 and 7. It is an extension of Kisaco Research’s successful series in Europe, USA and Asia. The forum brings start-ups and biotech companies together with financial investors and established multinational veterinary pharmaceutical companies to better stimulate the growth of the animal health industry and the speed of innovation through partnerships and investment. Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Livestock Grantees Convening (April 26, 2018)
On April 23 – 25,  2018, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) gathered its grantees and partners together in Dubai, UAE. The group reviewed the evolution of the Foundation’s Livestock Initiative strategy and identify potential gaps or other areas that should be focused in the future.
As Senior Advisor of BMGF, Dr. Tan was invited for the convening. It was a great experience for him to meet colleagues and partners from all over the world and to get more involved in the livestock’s initiative to help the poor for a better world.

Animal Health Investment Asia Forum Held in Hong Kong on Oct 19 – 20, 2016 was a Big Success!  (Oct .21, 2016)

This two-day event was organized by Kisaco Research, following on from their first successful European Animal Health Investment Forum held in London earlier this year. The forum provides an international investment and business development platform to bring new emerging technologies, financial investors and multinational corporations together with regional players in China and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
 A number of keynote speakers from leading global and regional animal health companies and organizations shared their insightful views on animal health market opportunities and challenges. Twelve emerging companies, carefully selected by a group of industry experts, presented the innovations and opportunities they had to offer to various kinds of business partnerships, including technology transfer, capital investment and M&A opportunities.
There were approximately 150 participants in attendance, representing animal health industry leaders, financial investors and service providers. A unique feature of the Animal Health Investment Forum is the one on one meetings between companies to explore partnership opportunities. Hundreds of these meetings were tightly scheduled over a 36-hour period.
Dr. Tan chaired one of the Emerging Company sessions and also introduced Z-Link Biotech to the audience. Despite being a new service company, Z-Link Biotech has already secured several contracts. Current clients include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, GALVmed, Phagelux, Pacific Gene Tech, and three Chinese animal health companies and research organizations.

The University of Liège and SanSheng signed a licensing deal (October  9, 2020)
 University of Liège (ULiège) and SanSheng Biological Technology Company signed an exclusivity technology transfer agreement for the commercialization of a vaccine against a herpesvirus (CyHV-3, also called KHV) infecting common carp and koi carp. This vaccine has been developed by the Immunology-Vaccinology laboratory of Professor Alain Vanderplasschen of ULiège.
Common carp is one of the most widely cultivated farmed fish with a global production of 4.5 million tons per year. It is an important source of animal protein in the diets of millions of people, mainly in Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The closely related sub species, koi carp, is a popular ornamental fish. Thus, common carp and koi carp represent a real economic and food pillar for millions of people around the world. Given that the Chinese market represents 80% of global carp production, this agreement is particularly significant. Z-Link, partnered with Ictyopharma, is pleased to act as transaction advisor for this significant deal.

Z-Link Sponsors Binod Tamang for His Airtel Delhi Half Marathon and Schooling (November 21, 2016)
Binod is 22-year-old student from a small village in Kalimpong district in India. Through Ms. Roshni Rai, one of the fellow runners in this year’s Everest Marathon, Dr. Tan learned the amazing story of Run with Roshni Foundation and Binod.  Both Roshni and Binod are India Gorkhas. The Foundation’s goal is to help elimination of identity crisis faced by India Gorkhas through supporting Gorkha runners.  Despite suffering from stomachache, Binod finished the race in 1 Hour 17 min that put him in the 8th position.

Interview - Entering the Chinese Animal Health Market(May 16, 2019)

China is one of the biggest markets globally for animal health and 1# for swine production. The potential is huge for companies with innovative products to enter the market and sell to Chinese farmers or make partnerships with local companies. The problem is that market access is difficult and financially can be risky for businesses. Dr. Tan was interviewed by Mr. Calan Smith of Kisaco Research about how to enter the market and best practices for working with local companies. Interview questions include:

Dr. Tan Attended Two Conferences in China in February and March(March 2, 2017)​​
Dr. Tan was the invited speaker in two national conferences. The first one was an investment forum organized by Zhongtai Securities held on February 16 in Hangzhou. Dr. Tan’s presentation was “The Animal Health Industry – from both Global and Chinese Perspectives”. Both animal health companies and investors attended the meeting. Long-term prospect of animal health business is good. It is anticipated that Chinese animal health industry will grow at 6% - 8% per year. The second conference was the International Symposium on Health of Aquatic Animals and Nutrition Immunology held on March 1 – 2 in Guangzhou. It was organized by Animal Nutrition and Feed Committee of Chinese Fishery Society and sponsored by Guangdong Hinabiotech Co. Ltd. As one of the twelve invited speakers, Dr. Tan presented “Health Management for Aquaculture – Prevention is More Important Than Cure”. China is by far the leading aquaculture country in the world, accounting over 60% of world production. Nevertheless the industry is facing many issues including threads of diseases. Veterinary Biological Forum Attracted Over 200 Participants  (October 30, 2016)​​

The forum was held in conjunction with the 7th China (Taizhou) International Medical Expo 2016 on October 29, 2016 in the China Medical Park, Taizhou city, Jiangsu province. It was organized by China Medical Park, Sinovet, Zhongchong Sino Biopharmaceutical, and Boehringer Ingelheim. Representatives from 19 universities and research institutes, and over 50 Chinese and international animal vaccine companies were present. An outstanding year for Z-Link (December 29, 2021)
2021 turns out to be an exceptionally productive year for Z-Link.  Thanks to the trust of our clients and strong teamwork from Z-Link members, we have successfully completed 10 projects and 5 additional projects are on going. These projects covered a wide range of services for our the animal health industry partners such as M&A transaction, market research, regulatory affair service, licensing advice, market expansion, and API sourcing. In addition, Dr. Tan continued helping Kisaco Research for organizing the Animal Health Innovation Asia conference in October by serving as one of their organizing committee members.  On the financial side, Z-Link’s revenue grew 39.5% compared to the previous year.

Z-Link Biotech Partners Visiting SinoVet in Taizhou  (April 21, 2016)

Dr. Tan and Dr. Guan visited SinoVet's Taizhou biological manufacturing facility on April 19 - 21, 2016.
SinoVet is a research-based animal vaccine company. In the last few years, they developed a number of innovative animal vaccines, including the world's first attenuated live PRRS and CSF bivalent vaccine for swine.

Z-Link Biotech and SinoVet will collaborate to further develop vaccine and related technology.

The 3rd Animal Health Innovation Asia conference to be Held in Hong Kong ​(August 15, 2018)​​​
Asia Animal Health Innovation Forum is coming to its 3rd time in 2018. This year, the forum will be held in Hong Kong on  October 24 and 25. With previous successes, Z-Link has become the sole consulting partner of this year event, with our Founder and Executive Partner, Dr. Tony Tan continuously to be one of the speakers of panelist. Apart from carrying on the subject of animal health innovation, a nutrition track and university pavilion for technology transfer will be the new additions to the forum. There will be 12 innovation companies, 6 from China and 6 from Asia Pacific Region, who present their new technologies, innovative ideas for looking for partnership and financing opportunities. Besides general social networking, participants can set up private One-to-One meeting session during the conference.
This year, Forum has invited Mr. Cai Xuepeng, President of CVDA, to deliver an opening speech on Chinese Animal Health Industry - Current Status and Development Trends. Other speakers include heads and leads from Elanco, Zoetis, Virbac and Ringpu.

The 3rd Asia Animal Health Innovation Forum Successfully Held in Hong Kong (Oct. 24 – 25, 2018)

The 2-day event of 2018 Asia Animal Health Innovation Forum has successful concluded. Z-Link Biotech, as the sole Consulting Partner for Kisaco Research, organized  25 Chinese animal health (AH) companies to attend the forum and received positive feedbacks from them. Also, on behalf of Kisaco, Z-Link invited several keynote speakers for the event, among them are Dr Xuepeng Cai, President of Chinese Veterinary Drug Association and Dr. Isabelle DIEUZY-LABAYE, Senior Advisor of OIE.  Dr. Tony Tan was a host of the panel discussion “The Needs and Drivers of the Veterinary Industry in China”.
12 emerging / startup companies, 6 from China and 6 from other Asia Pacific region, presented their innovative AH technologies and products in order to seek strategy partnership or financial opportunity. Assisted with the meeting Mojo platform, hundreds of 1-to-1 meeting sessions took place during the two days. This allowed companies to meet and explore various partnership opportunities.

Z-Link Biotech Was Present in the 2018 China Aquatic Animal Health Industry Annual Meeting (Sep.17-18, 2018)

​​The 1st Aquatic Animal Health (AAH) Conference, organized by Aquaculture Frontline and Chinese Fishery Association, was held on September 17 and 18, 2018 in Xiamen. There were over 500 participants from approximately 200 AAH companies, universities, research institutes and government in the meeting. Dr. Tony Tan, as one of the invited speakers, gave his perspective of the global and China AAH Industry and shared his opinions on the status quo and challenges faced by the industry. Companies attended include Bayer, Zoetis, Liyang, Baolai Lilai, CP Group, Haid and Tongwei.
